Meeting Point Emirates sets a milestone by making Dubai more accessible to the German speaking market and welcomes first charter arrivals from Germany at the Al Maktoum Airport (DWC)

FTI Group, the 4th largest Tour Operator in Europe, initiated its charter with 255 pax year-round daily arrivals to Dubai in an unprecedented initiative that makes the Emirate more accessible than ever before

Dubai, November 6, 2017:– Meeting Point Emirates welcomed its first arrivals from Leipzig to Al Maktoum Airport (DWC) On November 2nd 2017. This distinctive program is the first and only charter that will fly from the German speaking market to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) 365 days of the year, in all seasons regardless of seasonality. This flight program is set to complement the high-end product that Emirates Airlines is currently offering from Vienna, Zurich, Geneva, Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Hamburg.

What makes this initiative distinctive is that, it is the only charter program that will fly to Dubai 12 months a year, in all seasons regardless of seasonality whether during summer time, Ramadan or any other perceived challenging period. Summer season is seen as an opportunity for families with children who can book their holiday destination at competitive prices. The flight program includes daily, year-round direct flights and departs on a weekly basis from Leipzig, Hannover, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart. In winter weekly flights are scheduled from Berlin and Basel, while in summer weekly flights are scheduled from Nuremburg and Dresden. This initiative makes Dubai directly accessible from most of these cities for the first time, hence, exposing the Dubai to new potential travelers, with a market reach like never before.

In a statement given by Khaled Jouni, CEO Meeting Point International, during the press conference held at Double Tree by Hilton Jumeirah Beach, he said, “We are thrilled with this launch; adding over 100,000 arrivals per year from the German speaking market is certain to have a positive augmentation on the destination and our local hotel partners alike”.  He added “We, as a market leader in the UAE, saw a substantial increase in volume of guests to the UAE compared to the same period last year. That was the trigger that encouraged FTI GROUP and Meeting Point Emirates to go with a joint venture investment to increase guaranteed flight capacities and providing customers with more flexibility throughout the entire year. “

Dubai Tourism’s Saud Hareb, Market Lead for Germany, said, “We are excited for the increased connectivity between Dubai and both Germany and Switzerland that this initiative offers.  Germany continues to be an important source market for us, and has consistently remained in the top ten worldwide.  Dubai has seen strong growth and enthusiasm among visitors as a safe, family-friendly destination with a variety of attractions to be enjoyed year round, from theme parks, beaches, water parks, cultural offerings, and authentic desert safari experiences.  Going forward, we aim to continue on this track – offering visitors a unique holiday experience every time they visit.  We look forward to working closer with Meeting Point Emirates and FTI GROUP in bringing more visitors to Dubai as we make progress towards achieving our strategic goal of 20 million visitors per year by 2020.”

The connections to Al Maktoum Airport (DWC) complements FTI Group’s current offering with Emirates Airlines and are carried by Condor on a Boeing B757-300 aircraft and offer value-for-money packages that include airline tickets of economy or premium seats and six or 13-night hotel stays. With the combined routing FTI GROUP now covers the entire German speaking market with 77 non-stop weekly flights to Dubai and access from 13 airports.

Ms. Kerstin Nestler, Head of Destination at FTI Germany, explained the decision of FTI Group Director Dietmar Gunz to expand the tour operators’ Dubai offering and confirmed the statement of the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing DTCM that the United Arab Emirates are currently among the top ten holiday destinations for the German speaking market. “Therefore we are increasing our capacities for the upcoming winter and will proceed operating the Condor charter in the summer season 2018. As the market leader for the United Arab Emirates we can provide our customers now with even more flexibility throughout the entire year and can grow even further.”
