Meeting Point Morocco – Chinese FAM Trip

Meeting Point Morocco had the great pleasure to host a Fam group from China with about 40 important Chinese outbound tour operators, corporate travel organizers, as well as specialist operators. In order to take an insight into the characteristics of Chinese tourists, a tourism forum was held on 27, October organized by Ministry of Tourism of Morocco supported by Meeting Point Morocco.

Ms. Lamia Boutaleb, Secretary of State for Tourism; Mr. Li Li, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China in Morocco, President of the National Confederation of Tourism; Mr. Zhu Shanzhong, Executive Director of Technical Cooperation and Services at UNWTO presented at the forum and delivered important speeches respectively; Dr. Deng, Director of Research of the Chinese Institute on Tourism, presented a speech of the evolution of the Chinese market in the world with a focus on Morocco.

Morocco sees enormous opportunities in the Chinese market, which has 130 million tourists traveling abroad annually and spending generously. In fact, one year after it lifted visa requirements for Chinese nationals, Morocco is steadily tapping into the Chinese tourist market with arrivals by July 2017 rising to 50,000 compared to 10,000 in the whole year of 2015.

With the great support from Meeting Point Morocco, the delegation stayed two nights in Labranda Rose and took a visit to Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fez, Merzouga, Marrakech, enjoyed an unforgettable 7 days round trip in Morocco. With the special exclusive pool dinner arrangement from Sofitel Marrakesh, the Fam Trip success perfect end.

Meeting Point Morocco had great media exposure in China and built great market exposure trough this, we are very confident, and actually we are receiving lots of enquiries from different partners already with the first two successfully groups from One Tour.
