MP Hotels Strengthens With Revamped Hotels

MP HOTELS STREGHTENS PORTFOLIO WITH REVAMPED, NEW HOTELS IN CANARIES

The growing hotels group opened two new properties in Gran Canaria. Two distinct hotels that cater to important segments of the competitive travel industry.

MP Hotels has announced the addition of two hotels to its growing portfolio. Both hotels are found in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands.  The growing hotel group already has a large portion of its impressive 70 plus properties in Spain’s Canary Islands.  With these new additions, MP Hotels is strengthening its hotel offerings and further consolidating its strong position within this highly visited archipelago. The 71-room Lemon & Soul Las Palmas and the 39-high-end-apartment BEX Deluxe Suites complex are now officially part of the hotel group’s portfolio.

Lemon & Soul Las Palmas is the third property to open under this unique brand. They are hotels close to the beach or the sea, which offer guests a relaxed atmosphere along with quality basic services. Their bright and friendly décor inspired by its fruit namesake. Lemon & Soul Las Palmas stands where the former Hotel Atlanta stood. The latter was an unbranded MP Hotel managed property. The decision to rebrand and enhance was a conscious decision that symbolizes a bigger promise of service and a unique identity.

“By rebranding and refurbishing this property to fit our Lemon & Soul brand, we are enhancing the experience of our guests,” said Roula Jouny, CEO of MP Hotels and Managing Director of its parent company, the Munich-based FTI GROUP. “We are also further diversifying our hotel offerings in the Canary Islands, which in turn strengthens our position as one of the archipelagos leading actors of its hotel market.”

Completely refurbished, Lemon & Soul Las Palmas will stand out not only for its excellent location within Las Palmas, but also for the affordable beachfront experience it offers to holidaymakers. Standard rooms or apartments with kitchens plus terraces are an example of the kind lodging options that guests can now consider in this establishment. Guests may also enjoy the sunbathing solarium or a Jacuzzi experience at the hotel’s rooftop terrace overlooking Las Palmas and the beach. The hotel will also offer its fun Lemon Bar at this rooftop oasis. The latter will offer delicious snacks, cocktails and refreshing drinks as well as a weekly live music performance. The terrace will also  be marketed for those wishing to hold a private event in an attractive and fun space.

The self-reliant, laid-back but yet quality driven hospitality approach of this Lemon & Soul brand is reflective of the changing demand from travelers. Many guests want more than just basics while staying in hotels, but also ambiance and décor that is unique and reflective of a true identity.  Guests are looking for a distinctive experience that brands need to concoct to harness this ongoing demand.

This segment and type of traveler is increasingly important,” said Juan José Calvo, CEO of MP Hotels in Spain. “We want to make sure that we are attending to it accordingly”.

Another attempt to harness this more self-reliant market, but with a higher-end product is through BEX Deluxe Suites. The latter property is found across the street from MP Hotel’s  famous Design Plus BEX Hotel. This one of a kind property offers spacious plush suites with various self-service amenities. Perfect for the discerning autonomous business traveler or beach-going holidaymaker. Guests of BEX Deluxe Suites may also use the facilities and services of Design Plus BEX Hotel, such as their onsite restaurant, the IBEX Bar terrace, gym and The Vault lobby bar. BEX Deluxe Suites is also conveniently located on Las Palmas’ most enticing tourism and business destinations.

“This is yet another attempt for us to better segment our hotel offerings for specific types of travelers,” said Jouny. “We were able to spot a demand for this type of higher-end suite style apartments, and decided to create this product near our already well received Design Plus property.”

MP Hotels has been steadily growing its presence in the Canary Islands for some time. This past month construction on Stella Canaris, the largest eco-resort in Europe, was officially announced by the growing hotel group. It also expects to open one of its first Club Sei branded properties next year in Lanzarote.

“The Canary Islands is one of our most important markets,” said Jouny. “We expect to grow even more and further enhance our position over the next year. ”
